Alexander McQueen (1969-2010)

1985 Alexander McQueen leaves school at age 16 to take an apprenticeship at the Savile Row tailors & Anderson & Sheppard.
1994 After McQueen's graduation from London's Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, his entire degree collection is bought by Isabella Blow.
1996 McQueen is named chief designer of Givenchy Haute Couture.
2003 The CFDA honors McQueen with the International Award, celebrating "a designer who has made an outstanding contribution to the world fashion."
2006 McQueen launches McQ, a denim-based bridge line for men and women.
